Dirt & Decor Designs

 

Dirt and Decor Designs is a woman owned and operated business created in the summer of 2018 by Sarah Hunt. Sarah studied organic chemistry and environmental sciences at Paul Smith's College, and she advanced her education at Antioch College's graduate program majoring in sustainable development and soil chemistry.

After her academic and internship journey was complete, she moved back to the Capital Region and began searching for jobs within her field of expertise. Sarah quickly realized that her true passion lies deep within her family's roots.

OUR HISTORY

Sarah's family successfully ran nurseries throughout our local communities for decades, and watching the hard work and dedication that went into helping plants grow only furthered her love for cultivating beautiful spaces and working with her hands. Her Grandfather (John Schultz) owned Schultz’s Garden Center on Wolf Road in Albany for many years until her grandparents opened Ridge Gardens in Glenville, later retiring.

 

Sarah was determined to follow in her family's footsteps, so she began helping friends and family transform and enrich their homes while working at a local garden center. Eventually, the concept for Dirt and Decor started to bloom.

 

Word of mouth and loyal customers played a dynamic role that allowed Dirt and Decor to slowly flourish to where we are now. We have a passionate crew of hard working individuals that enable Dirt and Decor to provide extensive garden design and interior decorating for clients all over the Capital Region and lower Adirondacks!

 

Sarah uses her natural talent for design, detail and lifelong experience to craft comfortable and exquisite spaces for all home or business needs.
